Sleep Apnea is estimated to be undiagnosed in 90% of those who suffer from it. 50% of those diagnosed are not currently in treatment. Its effect on health in its most severe form can take up to 7 years off your life. Sleep Apnea affects memory, sleepiness at the wheel and other machinery, blood pressure, and other cardiovascular diseases.

Sleep Apnea is a disorder where one's airway closes while we sleep and we stop breathing. In order to start breathing again, the body releases a stress hormone (Cortisol which is well known to cause weight gain) and disrupts deep sleep. The results are weight gain, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes.

Snoring, although usually considered an annoyance by those nearby, is actually just a very mild form of Apnea that causes disturbances to deep sleep. This results in tired unrested feeling in the morning- often for more than one person.

Our Mission

Aspen Sleep Solutions is dedicated to helping changing the poor statistics associated with Sleep Apnea here in the Valley, and beyond. Our goal is to screen every resident of the Roaring Fork Valley for Sleep Apnea, help get people in treatment, and most importantly, keep them in treatment with support and followup. Other sleep programs fail to screen everyone and follow up with those in treatment, and the resulting statistics are disheartening. Our program will be the model for others around the country so that we can change the health consequences of this very treatable problem.
